Trivia:
In 2006, fresh out of film school, I went to NY for a music video shoot (working as first assistant camera) and in the camera checkout at ARRI CSC, NY, I met Andreas Weeber, who was just in town from Munich to bring the brand new ARRI D-20 to the US market.
I fell in love with NY and wanted to do a short film there. I showed my previous short films to Andreas, who, together with ARRI CSC, NY, offered me to use the ARRI D-20 and other equipment to shoot a little short over a weekend. In this way, they could get some footage to promote the camera in the US.
So I wrote the script and put together cast and crew in 2 weeks and shot over a weekend. I was blessed to get an amazing cast and crew, who were also very eager to work on an ARRI D-20 production. Several friends from Miami flew in to help out on this great opportunity (now that's a group of great friends!)
I based the script on the Dekalog III, a film from one of my favorite directors, Krysztof Kieslowski.
The film didn't get in any of the major film festivals, but it was featured on ASC American Cinematographer's Magazine, April 2008, and helped launch my feature film career.
